The company name "Sandbourne" pays homage to local poet and novelist Thomas Hardy (1840-1928). The English author, born east of Dorchester, based all of his novels in the south and southwest of England. 

Sandbourne was the name Hardy chose in his novels to represent the area of Bournemouth where our business is established.

Our core garden room ranges are named after towns and villages that feature in Hardy's fictional Wessex!
